Ume Laila (born 1994) is a visual artist currently based in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed her BFA from the College of Art and Design, University of the Punjab, Lahore in 2016. Laila then went on to pursue and complete an MA in Visual Arts from the National College of Arts, Lahore in 2021.

Laila maintains a multidisciplinary art practice through which she explores such as the social contracts inherent within relationships and the aspects that distract from them. She has exhibited her work extensively locally at Ejaz Art Gallery, Lahore in 2016; Teh ba teh at Taseer Art Gallery, Lahore in 2018; Pakistan at 100, World Bank, Islamabad in 2019; 1 Min|100 Year at Contemporary/Modern Museum, Lahore in 2020; Towards Homeat Dominion Gallery, Lahore in 2021; Letters to Pakistan at ArtSoch Gallery, Lahore in 2021 and Ode of the City at Muse Art Gallery, Lahore in 2022. She was also part of the collateral exhibition of the Lahore Biennale 2020, Lahore, Space and Karbathian 2020. Laila was ‘Artist in Residence’ at Karbath 01, Tasweer Ghar residency in 2018 and Taaza Tareen 14, Vasl, Karachi in 2022. Her art piece Mukalma was published on The Aleph Review Magazine website. Laila has also worked as Project Coordinator for Art Lahore ’22.
