Abdul Ali Hyder (born 1990) is a printmaker and educator currently based in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his BFA from the National College of Arts, Lahore in 2015 and was awarded an Honours for his efforts.

Abdul’s monochromatic work is a product of visual study and investigation informed by his memories. Some of his select exhibitions include Before There Was a Monsoon at Gandhara-Art Gallery, Karachi; Faculty Exhibition, Islamabad Art Festival organised at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts, Islamabad; Configuration at Tanzara Gallery, Islamabad; and Open Field at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts, Islamabad. Abdul has also been privileged to be part of a travelling exhibition, Micro/Macrocosm curated by Lina Vincent for the International Print Exchange Programme India, 2018, which was displayed in India, Poland, Turkey, and the United States of America. He was also the ‘Artist in Residence’ at Tasweer Ghar, Lahore in 2017 and ‘Printmaker in Residence’ at Inkster Print Studio, Lahore in 2020. He was a recipient of a Young Artist Award at Alhamra Art Gallery, Lahore. Besides focusing on his own practice, Abdul has worked as a master printmaker with Algerian artist Rachid Koraïchi on his project for the Lahore Biennale 02, 2020.

Currently, he splits his time between co-managing Inkster Print Studio, Lahore, and as visiting faculty in the Department of Fine Arts, National College of Arts, Rawalpindi. Abdul’s artworks are housed within the permanent collection of the Ambiance Boutique Art Hotels.
