
Amina El-Edroos (born 1989) is a visual artist, photographer and academic currently based in London, United Kingdom. She completed her BFA in Digital Arts from the Beaconhouse National University, Lahore in 2013. Amina then went on to pursue an MA in Digital Media at Goldsmiths, University of London, London.
She works primarily in digital media, exploring numerous themes such as image making, temporal and spatial representation in video and photography, documentation of the everyday urban and suburban space and most recently, belonging and identity as an immigrant. Amina’s process involves mathematical preciseness and extensive use of repetition, the grid and the technique of collage working as both, micro and macro image-making techniques. Her work has been showcased both locally and internationally at various art organisations in Pakistan, India, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom. Amina has also displayed her artworks in a solo exhibition at 8B2 Gallery, Islamabad.
Alongside her art practice, Amina has worked in art education for eight years teaching Foundation Art and Design, Art History, Contemporary Art, and Photography at the School of Art Design and Architecture, National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad and the National College of Arts, Rawalpindi. Amina also has contributed to the online publication, the Karachi Collective.
