Arslan Farrukh (born 1992) is a visual artist currently based in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his BA (Honours) in Architecture from the University of Kent, Canterbury, United Kingdom in 2014.

Arslan was creatively driven from an early age and ventured into various artistic activities throughout his years of formal education. For him, art was more an outlet for escape than leisure, since he exhibited signs of social anxiety from the age of five and found that art provided the opportunity to spend time in isolation. Coming from a family with no background in art, Arslan’s limited exposure was influenced through his upbringing in the United Arab Emirates and pursuing higher education in the United Kingdom. He found a source for inspiration in advertisements, glossy magazines, and ultra-modern, very stylized living, rather than the history of art and the practices of galleries, museums, and curators. While discovering various genres of art, Arslan’s personal taste and admiration for specific genres hasn’t wavered. The artist realises that his perception may still appear or in fact be limited, but he is still drawn to artwork that is realistically rendered even though he respects the contribution of other artists, genres, and styles, and understands their importance. According to Arslan, his lack of education in fine arts makes it a struggle to conform to the character of an artist, and sometimes makes him feel like an imposter, questioning his status in the ranks of creative peers. He, therefore, addresses himself as ‘someone qualified as an architect, pretending as an artist’.

Select artworks of his are housed within the permanent collection of the Ambiance Boutique Art Hotels.
