Iman Ahmed (born 2000) is a multidisciplinary artist, writer and illustrator currently based in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her BFA from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi in 2023 and received a distinction for her efforts.
In her artistic practice Iman draws inspiration from the gendered household spaces of Karachi. Her research interests focus on the history of drawing rooms in contemporary South Asia, through painting, printmaking and collage, she disrupts and transforms the feminine space and its textile heirlooms, as they move through time and between generations of families, exploring moments of migration, grief and longing. Iman has exhibited her artworks extensively locally at various institutions such as the19th Emerging Talent Exhibition at VM Gallery, Karachi and Ode to the Ordinary: uncommon dialogues at Koel Gallery, Karachi.
Her artwork is housed in the permanent collection of the Ambiance Boutique Art Hotels. Read less
