Ishma Fahim (born 2002) is a visual artist currently based in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed her BFA from the Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore in 2024 specialising in miniature painting.
Ishma’s art practice explores the lingering effect of childhood on identity and memory, often through a surrealist lens. At the heart of her work is Echo, a gender-fluid alter ego navigating spaces that merge the fantastical with the familiar. Through childhood mementoes, her art reflects themes of belonging, loss, and transformation, offering her a means to reclaim agency over moments of alienation. Her artwork has been exhibited extensively locally at various art organisations such as at Arriving: The 19th Emerging Talent Exhibition at the Alhamra Art Gallery, Lahore in 2023; the 3rd Anna Molka Awards at the Anna Molka Gallery, Punjab University College of Art and Design, Lahore in 2023; the Alliance Française de Lahore in 2024; and Arcade Gallery, Islamabad in 2024. Her work has been shortlisted for the Stars of Tomorrow 2025 by the Pakistan Art Forum Gallery Lahore and will also be displayed at VM Art Gallery, Karachi in 2025.
