Jovita Alvares (born 1993) is a visual artist, art educator and writer currently based in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her BFA from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi in 2016 with a distinction in her thesis, and overall distinction and consequently was awarded the title of ‘Valedictorian of the class of 2016’ for her efforts.
She has been awarded numerous awards during her professional career most notably the Imran Mir Art Prize, for upcoming artists. Jovita has had a vast number of exhibitions both locally and internationally. Select exhibitions of hers include 'Dil To Pagal Hai' in culmination to an artist residency at Sanat Initiative in 2017, her first solo presentation, ‘Wallflower’ at the Imran Mir Art Gallery, Karachi in 2018, 'Within/Without' at Asia House London in 2018 and her most recent exhibition 'Time Won't Tell' held at Gallery V in New York.
