Malika Riaz (born 1999) is a visual artist currently based in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed her BFA from the National College of Arts, Lahore in 2024 specialising in Miniature Painting .
Malika’s practice revolves around contemporizing traditional miniature techniques while incorporating the concept of memory, time, and belonging into the work. She has incorporated her knowledge of traditional miniature in different mediums, including wire-embedded handmade paper, hand embroidery, and fabric layering to create visuals. Malika’s artworks have been exhibited extensively locally at various institutions such as the 19th Annual Young Artists Exhibition at Alhamra Arts Council, Lahore; IAPEX at Expo Centre, Lahore in collaboration with Art Next Gallery, Lahore in 2022; Gallery 21, Islamabad; Broadcast Vol. II at O Art Space, Lahore; and Visual Dissemination - Act 1 at Ocean Art Gallery, Lahore.
Her artwork is housed in the permanent collection of the Ambiance Boutique Art Hotels. Read less
