Misbah Qasim (born 2001) is a visual artist currently based in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed her BFA from the Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore in 2023 specialising in Painting.
Her practice primarily revolves around the exploration of interior spaces that act as intermediate and connecting levels. Using the visual breakdown of spaces and a specific aspect of illumination, she aims to represent the complexities of her spiritual struggle through her artworks. Misbah’s artworks make use of different mediums and techniques but she gravitates towards the use of acrylics and oils. Within her practice she experiments with various surfaces, however, her preferred surfaces are wooden board and canvas. Misbah has also explored the genres of video art, performance art, photography, egg tempera painting, and printmaking in her practice. She has exhibited her artworks extensively locally at various institutions such as the Young Artists’ Exhibition at Alhamra Arts Council, Lahore in 2022; Kinnaird Degree Show at Kinnaird, Lahore in 2023; Built Form: A Visual Dialogue at Tagheer, Lahore in 2023; Everything Is Going Upside Down at Sir Syed Memorial Building, Islamabad; Stars Of Tomorrow at Pakistan Art Forum, Lahore in 2024; and Pakistan’s Emerging Art at Artcade Islamabad in 2024.
