Raheela Abro (born 1982) is a visual artist and educator currently based in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her BFA from the University of Karachi in 2009. Raheela then went on to pursue and complete an MA in Art Education from the Beaconhouse National University, Lahore in 2017 and is currently pursuing a P.hd from the University of Karachi.
She has exhibited her artworks extensively both locally and internationally including three solo presentations and two two-person exhibitions at Canvas Gallery, Karachi. Alongside these she has participated in over 50 group exhibitions at Galleries in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and also outside of Pakistan in Iran and Dubai. Alongside maintaining a robust art practice Raheela has also maintained a teaching practice since 2011 and has taught at Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, Karachi School of Art, Karachi and the Center of Excellence in Art & Design, Jamshoro and Sindh Madressatul Islam University, Karachi. She is currently a lecturer at the Department of Visual Studies at the University of Karachi. Raheela previously also has been invited to speak at guest lectures organised by the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, Lahore and Iqra University, Karachi. She has also held the respected position of Juror for critiques and theses at various universities, institutes and organizations where she judged the various art competitions organized by them. She has been interviewed by ‘Jahan-e-Pakistan Magazine and Sindh Express Newspaper and her works have been published in numerous art magazines, catalogues, and newspapers.
Her artwork is housed within the permanent collection of the Ambiance Boutique Art Hotels.
