Sumaiya Saiyed (born 1994)  is a visual artist currently based in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her BFA from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi in 2019 specialising in Sculpture and New Media Art.

Sumaiya has always had a fondness for working with cloth. She explores this medium in a variety of manners through out her art practice. For Sumaiya the work is an exploration of the struggle against bodily limitations, over which no human can establish total control. She is particularly interested in how these conditions can threaten or in extreme cases even destroy the body, in this manner Sumaiya’s work celebrates these aspects of destruction, change and decay of the body. She has exhibited her works extensively both locally and internationally.
