Syeda Kainat Jillani (born 1995) is a visual artist and art educator currently based in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her BFA from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi in 2019, received a distinction and was awarded the Zahoor-ul-Akhlaq Award for the ‘Best Drawing Portfolio’.
Syeda’s art practice revolves around the process of making ‘Ralli’ through a layering of materials with bright colours, she explores her lived experiences of her hometown Ghotki. She experiments with different fabrics and sticking styles as a direct response to her drawing practice, making use of the mediums of printmaking, hand and machine stitching of hand-dyed fabrics. Syeda has exhibited her work extensively both locally and internationally such as in Identity and Art in An Emerging Pakistan in Case Western Reserve University, Ohio which was curated by Elizabeth Meinke; Collective Cohesion at Koel Gallery, Karachi; 16thEmerging Talent Exhibition at VM Art Gallery, Karachi; Microcosm 4 at Gandhara Art Gallery, Karachi; and Towards Home at Dominion Gallery, Lahore. She is currently pursuing an MA in Education and Curriculum from Szabist University.
Her artwork is housed within the permanent collection of the Ambiance Boutique Art Hotels.
