Umair Fayyaz (born 1992) is a visual artist currently based in Islamabad, Pakistan. He completed his degree in Chartered Accountancy from Islamabad in 2017.

Growing up in Rawalpindi, Punjab, Umair’s primary education in art was spurred by his mother, sisters and teachers, as they guided him to draw intricate science diagrams and paint in small school sketchbooks. According to the artist he never noticed when the diagrams and colouring books turned into canvases and easels. In this way, Umair feels that the moniker of a self-taught artist doesn’t suit him completely. He is often at a loss when trying to put words to the meaning of art, and instead, prefers to pick up his flat-tipped brush and paint his feelings away.
